Cradlesong Blog: Get Your Kicks at Kiama Blowhole

Blog
Well I'm happy to say that we've had a week without dramas this week. We've been out and about enjoying the good weather instead.

Yesterday we took a day trip out to Kiama Blowhole. We stopped off in Kiama for lunch before heading to Blowhole Point and were pleasantly surprised by the size of the town and just how lively it felt. We then headed to the blowhole, found a great (free) parking spot close by and walk down to the viewing platform. There is a natural rock formation that sea water is pushed through and spouts high into the air with an amazing rush and sound. It's quite exciting and people "oh" and "ah" as if they are watching fireworks. Even Sophie had a few giggles at the view. We then took a lovely walk around the point taking views of the ocean, harbour and pelicans. We drove down to the harbour and had a rather ordinary tea there before driving back up to take a look at the blowhole in the dark and starting our drive home. We had planned to head back into Kiama to do some window shopping before heading home, but spent much longer than expected at the blowhole and just ran out of time. It was a great day that we all enjoyed!!
