We had a really good weekend. On Saturday we
had some of the bubs from Mum's group come over with their Mummys and
Daddys. It was great to see them all run around and play together, even
if Sophie did struggle with the concept of sharing her toys (and my
mobile) with her friends. It was lovely to see how much they have grown
and developed and also so nice to see some of the Daddys. All in all it
was a wonderful morning and we were left with a lot of biscuits and
cake too.
Sunday was Father's Day and Sophie gave Daddy a lovely present and
helped him unwrap it. Later she headed out with him while Mummy tried
to get organised around the house. Then we all went to visit one of
Daddy's cousins for lunch. They have three children who are older than
Sophie and play so nicely with her. They also have a garden with slides
and swings and a doggy so Sophie was in her element! Another wonderful
day.
As if that wasn't enough, we took a walk to the shops this morning
and bumped into a friend and had a spontaneous lunch and play date
which was great too.
Happy
Father's Day to all the Dads out there! Hope you get to spend a lovely
day with your little ones. Sophie's Daddy was woken with a kiss, some
presents and beautiful art work. I'm sure there will be plenty more
kisses and "huggles" for Daddy as the day goes on.
I took Sophie to our
local public pool (Lane Cove Aquatic Centre) today as she doesn't have
lessons at the moment and it's still a bit too cold for our pool. They
have a nice big set of shallow pools with fountains which were perfect
for Sophie. I tried to remember all the things we have learnt at Brewer
Swimming and we did OK. The pool was warmer than the one we are use to
so it was also the first time in a couple of months that she wasn't in
her wetsuit. Surprisingly, she was fine with this. I thought she might
notice the lack of buoyancy, but she was great. We even bumped into a
friend from Brewer in the change rooms which was a nice surprise.
Sophie has such a wonderful imagination. This morning after her shower she climbed into my bed, placing her teddy on one side and dolly on the other, pulled the covers over her legs and her toys legs and proceeded to read to them. So cute! Take a look...
We went out for a family dinner with Nana & Papa and Nanny & Grandad before leaving Melbourne. We had a lovely time and although it was late for Sophie she was on top form. She discovered there was a kids corner with karaoke which she stood and watched with great interest for some time. Then she finally plucked up the courage to pick up a mic. There wasn't an awful lot of singing, but she was happy to steal the stage. At one point I think she thought the mic was an ice cream and at another it was a bit too tricky to hold the mic and clap her hands and she bumped her self on the head. She still refused to give up the mic though ;) Anyway, take a look...
We went to see Play School live last Thursday and it was so much fun! Sophie just love it. I was a little worried that shed be overwhelmed and just watch and not want to join in as she often does that at her classes. She did start off a little transfixed, but soon got into the swing of things. A couple of her favourite songs were a big help. Anyway, as soon as she worke out she could go round the kids in front and get to the stage she did and then again an again and... Well you get the idea. It was great though to see he so excited and waving to all the little kids around her. It was also amazing to see how excited all the other kids were too and the atmosphere was buzzing. I didn't know jemima was so popular!!
